St Mellion International Resort is continuing its history of sporty charity events with an Ultimate Dodgeball Tournament on June 19 raising money for the British Heart Foundation.
The British Heart Foundation Ultimate Dodgeball Tournament is usually only held in schools. St Mellion is the first large organisation to hold a tournament.
The knock-out tournament is open to adults and children and will form part of a fun-filled family day out including games, coaching and a barbeque.
The matches will be held on the resort’s tennis courts from 12-5pm.
Phil Barton, gym manager at St Mellion, said: “Everyone loves dodgeball. It’s fun, inclusive, easy to play and great exercise for all ages. We’re expecting anything from 10-20 teams of staff and members to take part.
“It’s £10 per team and you can register your interest at St Mellion gym. You will then receive a sponsorship pack. All money raised will go toward the British Heart Foundation, funding research into the causes of heart disease, patient care and support.”
Owen Penny, fundraising volunteer manager of the British Heart Foundation, said: “We’re delighted that St Mellion International Resort have decided to become the first non-school to take part in the Ultimate Dodgeball Tournament. It looks set to be an excellent day out for all the family and we’d like to express our thanks to the leisure staff at St Mellion for getting involved.”
